The Power of Positivity
Anyone who knows me, will know that I’m a firm believer in the power of positive affirmation. I always encourage people to think positively and speak positive things over their lives.
However, I wasn’t always a positive person. In the past, I’ve struggled a great deal with insecurities, fear and low self-esteem. I felt like everyone was better than me and more advanced than me. I felt like I wasn’t good enough or pretty enough and I constantly told myself that I was a failure.
That was the wrong mentality to have and it definitely affected me throughout my life. I happened to come across a book a few years back called “The Confident Woman”. My immediate reaction was “Yasssss this is for ME!” It really was for me! It was written by the amazing speaker and author Joyce Meyer. I love me some Joyce Meyer!
In the book, she made the statement, “A positive mind brings positive results. A negative mind brings negative results.” To me that statement was so profound. Whatsoever you sow you will reap.
There’s a verse in the Bible that says “As a man thinketh, so is he.” In other words, what you think is what you will become. If you fail and label yourself failure, how will you reach success when you’re operating with a failure mentality? Instead believe and tell yourself that you have the ability to succeed.
Even now, there are times when I feel down, but I choose to think positive thoughts. As a Christian, I encourage myself with God’s word and his word tells me that I am more than a conqueror and that “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”
“If you can change your mind, you can change your life.” – William James. Choose to be positive because there is so much power in positivity.
