Welcome to WWOP

Beaten down to feel like a nonentity,

Stripped of all virtue and value,

Spat On,

Mocked,

Cursed,

Abused,

Tarnished,

Molested,

Raped,

Widowed,

Diseased,

Destroyed?

To many I am known as all things,

Mental Case,

Bipolar,

Pathologically Insane?

To the world:

I am insignificant?

A means to an end,

Terminated,

Outcast,

Black Minority,

Feminine Deformity,

Lost Cause?

No support?

No leg to stand upon?

Cursed left and right!

Abandoned to the roaring seas!

Demised by the roaring lions!

Failure!

Loser!

Pointless!

SILENCED!!

For the longest part of my existence, I had no voice because I chose to exchange my mouth piece for a mantle piece! I was the wind that bloweth to and fro without aim or purpose. Lost to mediocrity reign! I was so angry at the world! Bitter for what humanity had taken from me that I continually dwelt in the past! So lost to the darkness that I could no longer find a way out!

I was broken! Wounded! Scared from the infliction that haunted my childhood! I couldn't let go of the pain because I did not want to let go! I was so use to the pain, that abusing myself became a normality! I was consumed by my hatred! I was infatuated with my depression! Oppression was now my lord and savior!

Let's just be honest, I loved feeling sorry for myself! The victim card was now my national identity! The pain was now my fingerprint! I reeked of despair! The smell of defeat lingered in the atmosphere! You could taste the aroma of destruction around me. I was so stuck that I could not even sense time disappearing! The world was maturing while I was degrading!

All the years I missed! All the seasons that passed me by! All for what?!

What was the point of all of this?

Sometimes they say that we will pass through all sorts of trials and tribulations to make us stronger!

To become leader!

To become a catalyst for change in our society!

The voice in the wilderness!

I heard that only wounds can create warriors!

The strongest are those that will pass through the tough seasons!

However my story is far from incomplete!

Rather it has just began!

I now know in part that my story has enabled me to want to empower women!

To raise a generation that will stand up and speak up!

WWOP - WOUNDED WOMEN OBTAIN POWER

ARE SCARS DO NOT DEFINE NOR CONFINE US!

WE ARE MORE THAN OUR WOUNDS!

WWOP’s Main Objectives

  • To raise women and girls from aged 13-30 to become leaders
  • To host yearly events to share women's stories and network young entrepreneurs
  • To build a centre in Nigeria, Cameroon and other developing countries by 2020

Mission Statement

A community where one can feel safe, empowered and grow! A platform whereby you can voice your opinions and be heard! A nation that can be touched by your story and grow! A place that through your brokenness, we find strength! Women must locate their purpose! We must change the world's definition of us as being unfit and make a difference! We will educate our young and show them that there is hope and that we too can innovate a new social change!

We must change what the world says of us and how statistics show that,  “we account for only 5% of the world's CEO's of Fortune 500 and 1000.” It is time we come out of obscurity and take our place as leaders! We can do anything we set our minds to do! Fear of never being good enough or inadequate is no longer our lord! We will use our pain and scars to mould a united world!

We are Wounded Women Who Have Obtained Power

For how long will you take a seat as a passenger? Do you know you can unlock the potential within you to become drivers of your vehicle? Do not let external changes in our environment  toss you to and fro rather, take ownership of your future! Your history does not dictate your future!
